The Fluid Highway® is not a coating on steel. It is a purpose-built composite, assembled layer by layer on a continuous production line at our Las Cruces facility.
Three layers
It begins with a seamless thermoplastic polyurethane liner — fused from multiple layers, not sprayed — that isolates the pipe contents and resists saline water, hot brine and aggressive chemicals. Around it, resin-impregnated fibreglass is wound for strength in both the axial and circumferential directions, with layers added to suit the design pressure. A spread-coated PVC casing, UV-stabilised and self-extinguishing, completes the wall.
The same process runs two ways: in 50-foot factory lengths shipped to site, or continuously on the construction site itself in single lengths up to two kilometres.
